ernest in devil's rain
We watched The Devil's Rain (1975) last night. Best Satan ever! Let me just list some of the cast for you:
Ernest Borgnine
William Shatner
Tom Skerrit
John Travolta
Ida Lupino
Eddie Albert (Green Acres)

All together in a seventies horror flick about satan worshipers. I highly recommend it. It was not quite as good as say, Rosemary's Baby, but the visual/special effects and cool shots more than made up for any shortcomings.

So nice outside today. [info]sikboy still partying it up in Long Beach. Transferred him all my money cuz he ran out. Hope he knows that was his birthday present money! =)
Thanks to [info]awdrey_gore's post, I pulled out an old book to find the dog-ear for a favorite quote by Salinger. "The human voice conspires to desecrate everything on earth."
I hear myself doing this, I want to see things brighter but I'm worn down and everything is in shades of grey and red.

I need to learn how to cook better. It finally occured to me that I was never really shown, hence all the accidents and mishaps. I can do basic baking and pan cook certain things, but those are only the whole notes, I need to learn some scales. I learned over the years to always have a TV dinner handy when attempting something new. A lot of meals have gone in the trash. Recipes a lot of times assume some knowledge of the inner workings of heat or butter or other things I do not know. Phone calls with my mom will reveal, wrong type of pan, didn't turn the heat down low enough, needed to pre-salt that item before cooking. It's a very I Love Lucy kitchen here, except with lots of close calls with sharp knives, slippery floors and hot things. [info]sikboy worries a lot when I try to cook dinner.

Fernie's out of town this week, Monday to Monday. He went to the Ink and Iron festival in Cali. I need a roadtrip soon, too. Something about being on the road for a long time; you work things out in your head, finally say goodbye, see what you're taking for granted, all without saying a word. Also, the colors. The road's not as theraputic once I get out of Texas, but maybe that's cuz I know it so well. Don't really get out of my head until then.

I really like the Buffy series, as a whole. I've been re-watching it again and finished the first night Fernie was gone. Big mistake. I forget about that empty feeling I get when I'm done. As if I lost a friend that I was hanging out with a couple nights a week.

Can anyone recommend friends or groups to add? Been away so long, most of mine aren't posting anymore.

XOXO

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!

LJ looks different! It's weird sitting down to make a post, haven't done it in so long.

What's new with me:
-I had a plan to buy Lucy's in the next couple of years. The owner really wants me to have it so she's willing to work whatever deal she has to. Not sure I want to stay there long enough to wait that out though, it can be a pretty negative environment. Other than my artistic endeavors, I've been thinking for a while about becoming a yoga instructor. I'd like to do that on the side either way.
-Fernie and I started dating almost a year ago. It's been hard/rewarding. We were so surprised and hopeful in the beginning and when reality set in we had to put a lot of time into dealing with our own issues and other's quirks to stay in the relationship together. That's taken a while and we're just now getting back to the romantic stage which is nice.
-Heather(cat) passed away last month. She lived a long happy life. She was almost 14.
-I've kind of lost touch with a lot of friends. I'd like to amend that and make time to plan things I want to do with friends; dinner parties, game night, ladies night out, LASERTAG!, etc.
etc, etc )
So, what's up with you? Do tell!

the Heart Project loves you!
